“NEW AGE” – World Religion of the Last Days?

Have you ever gone into your local bookstore and looked around in the “Religious” section. Somewhere close to the Bibles, you will also see a category called, “NEW AGE.”

What is New Age and what is the New Age religion?

The New Age Movement is a term applied to a range of spiritual or religious beliefs and practices that developed in Western nations during the 1970s. This “New Age” religion is an attempt at a one-world religion. Revelation 17 clearly states that the perverse, unholy, ungodly doctrine of Mystery Babylon will be the religion of the last days. The Bible says this Mystery Babylon system will be spread throughout the world. This one world religion has a false Christ, just as prophesied and also promotes the number 666 and the image of the beast as holy and sacred, as something to be desired. There is a growing movement among people toward the New Age church, a conglomeration of satanic churches and practices. New Age believers teach karma, reincarnation, inner healing, holistic health, yoga, higher consciousness, the mother goddess, crystal powers, spirit channeling, psychic powers and UFOs. What motivates these millions of New Age believers to put their trust and faith in the miracles of New Age gurus, the teachings of mind control psychologists, and what they see by their senses as miracles, signs, and wonders by New Age healers and miracle workers? Second Thessalonians 2 clearly states that prior to Jesus’ return to rapture His people, there will be a great apostasy. Because of this falling away, the people will believe a lie and will be damned because they have rejected the truth.

The New Age has everything necessary to be a last days’ world religion, identified in Bible prophecy.  The New Age teaches that not only there is a “god,” but that YOU are that “god.” Create your own god through mythologies, through visualization images in your mind.

What is the religion of New Age believers? It is a religion brought by demonic spirits or dark angels. There are false New Age books and bibles, which have sold millions of copies, such as “The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ.” There are many false christs in the New Age. Jesus Christ prophesied many false christs would come claiming to come in His name in the last days. Is it any wonder that there is a “Lord Maitreya” who claims to be the New Age Christ?

The Maitreya or Lord Maitreya is described in Theosophical literature of the late 19th-century and subsequent periods as an advanced spiritual entity and high-ranking member of a hidden Spiritual Hierarchy, the so-called Masters of the Ancient Wisdom. According to Theosophical doctrine, one of the Hierarchy’s functions is to oversee the evolution of humankind; in accord with this function, the Maitreya is said to hold the so-called Office of the World Teacher.

Revelation 13 tells of the mark of the beast, and now there is a New Age Christ making his idle boast. The Bible states very clearly in the last days a great one will come, a lying one, and many will fall away from the faith and believe him. The New Age religion has a plan, which calls for a one-world government and a one-world religion. The ultimate goal of the plan is to destroy Christianity.

Revelation 13:7 (KJV) speaks of the beast that will make war against the saints and will overcome them. “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them:” Only Jesus Christ can be victorious over the beast.

Djwhal Khul was known as a “Tibetan” disciple in the tradition of ancient esoteric spirituality known as “The Ageless Wisdom” tradition. He was known as one of the “Masters of the Ancient Wisdom,” defined as the spiritual guides of mankind. His writings gave detailed information for the foundation of what he termed “The New Age.” He taught cosmological, metaphysical, and esoteric principles. In his book, “A Treatise on Cosmic Fire,” he stated that the number 666 and the mark of the messenger will be used to purify and cleanse the earth.

But what exactly does the number 666 signify for the future of man and the Planet Earth? In answering this question, Djwhal Khul explains the laws of karma, reincarnation, and rebirth. He says that at the end of the present age (or cycle), in order to bring in the New Age, certain “destructive forces” will be un-leashed on the world. These forces-which take a triangular shape-constitute “heavenly karma,” or cosmic justice. There will be a Great Initiation of all mankind, Khul reveals, and the number 666 will be instrumental in both carrying out cosmic justice (it will be destructive!) and in initiating mankind into the New Age.

Who is behind the New Age religion?

The Bible tells us there will be a man, there will be the Antichrist. But behind him is none other than Lucifer.

David Spangler, an American spiritual philosopher and self-described “practical mystic,” New Age theologian whose books have sold in the hundreds of thousands, says: “It is Lucifer who comes to bring us to wholeness, for his is an invitation to the New Age. Lucifer is the same force as Christ.” Lucifer comes with his mystery religion, with his number 666, and with his mark. All is truly in place.

The New Age has many churches today. They are unified and moving into Christian churches. David Spangler has spoken many times at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in New York City, the largest cathedral church in America. New Age doctrine is being taught from many pulpits and New Age churches, with names such as the Church of Conscious Harmony, the Church of Today, Unity, the Church of Christian Science, the Worldwide Church of God, the Church of Wicca, the Unification Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the Church of Mystical Christianity, and the Church Universal and Triumphant.

Just to note, the Latter-Day Saints believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers in the exact same sense that all men and women are siblings to Satan. Some say that Mormons believe that Jesus and Satan were brothers also. (Reference: mormonvoices.org).

What should be our response?

We are truly in the last days, and the New Age is the Mystery Babylon religion of the last days, so there is only one thing to do.
